Wrinkle reduction; advertising and the law

Under the Medicines (Advertising) Regulations 1994 and the Committee of Advertising Practice (CAP) code, botulinum toxin which is categorised as Prescription Only Medicine (POMs) should not be advertised or promoted to the public.  This includes mentioning it by brand name. When advertising for cosmetic clinics and services, we may promote the service provided, e.g. “treatment for lines and wrinkles” or “wrinkle relaxing treatment”. Advertising must not mention individual drugs or brand names as this is prohibited by the regulations. In compliance with the legislation you will not find these products promoted or advertised by us either in our business flyers or online. If you do ask for information from us we can of course discuss the details of any medicines that we are able to prescribe.  Fillers fall into a different category because they are not prescribed medications  so they can be advertised by name.
